This is now officially becoming very interesting.
The Bears have requested permission to interview Bruce Arians, offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts where he was tasked with mentoring No. 1-overall pick Andrew Luck this season, according to a report by Ian Rappaport at NFL Network.
What makes Arians, 60, especially interesting is that he is one of the few top coordinators with NFL head-coaching experience. The Colts went 9-3 this season when Arians took over during the absence of coach Chuck Pagano while he was undergoing treatment for leukemia.
Rappaport also said the San Diego Chargers are also evincing interest in Arians, who is occupied right now preparing for the Colts wild-card game on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Arians previously was Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator from 2007-2011 when he worked with Ben Roethlisberger.
