Boozer leaves UC in walking boot
Carlos Boozer rolled his left ankle on Kyle Korver's game-winning 3-pointer, after tipping Rose's miss to keep the possession alive.
"When I hit the ground it was already on its side and all my weight came down on top of it," Boozer told the Tribune. "It's pretty swollen right now, pretty bad. I'll ice it like crazy and see if I can play (Monday)." (chicagosports.com)
Santo statue planned
The Cubs Convention resumed Saturday morning at the Hilton Chicago with news that the team plans to unveil a statue Aug. 10 honoring Ron Santo, who died in December, (ChicagoBreakingSports).

It's been reported that at least five teams have shown interest in signing free agent Manny Ramirez, whom the White Sox picked up off waivers in August.
The Los Angeles Angels, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays have made inquiries to agent Scott Boras about Ramirez, according to sources, (ChicagoBreakingSports).
NFL warns teams about trash talk
The NFL has warned players to cut out the trash talk, specifically when it threatens other players.
Ray Anderson reminded players that comments of a physically threatening nature are always taken into account in evaluating discipline for any illegal physical contact on the field, league spokesman Greg Aiello said Saturday.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Anderson is the leagues chief disciplinarian. He told teams, including all eight remaining in the playoffs, to basically watch it.
Since October, the NFL has ratcheted up its enforcement of hits to defenseless players with a series of finesand the threat of suspension. No suspensions have been handed out, but the recent rash of trash talk before playoff games prompted Anderson to further emphasize the need to respect the game and opponents, (Associated Press).
DE Lynch recommits to Notre Dame
Top 100 defensive end Aaron Lynch has ended his mercurial recruiting process -- again -- by committing to Notre Dame -- again -- on his official visit this weekend, according to national college recruiting analyst Tom Lemming and multiple online reports.
That gives the Irish three elite recruits along the defensive front -- defensive ends Lynch and Stephon Tuitt and hybrid linebacker Ishaq Williams -- for the sort of impact class that Notre Dame has failed to secure perhaps since 1990, (ChicagoBreakingSports).
