The Chicago Blackhawks will be facing a new goaltender tonight in Detroits Joey MacDonald. And what they want against him is something that was missing against the Anaheim Ducks: traffic.

The Blackhawks continue their must-win stretch run against the Red Wings tonight, as they enter the evening eighth in the Western Conference.

In their 2-1 loss to Anaheim, the Blackhawks werent nuisances to goaltender Ray Emery much. That has to change against MacDonald, whos facing the Blackhawks for the first time in his career.

We want to have a lot of shots, a lot of traffic at the net and give him a hard time seeing pucks, coach Joel Quenneville said this morning. We didnt do a good job of that last time, so we have to make sure (MacDonald) has a tough job looking through the traffic.

Corey Crawford will look for victory No. 30 tonight; Crawford is 2-1-0 vs. the Red Wings this season. Johan Franzen is back in the Red Wings lineup tonight but Pave Datsyuk is out.
