The Canadians fell to Slovakia 4-3. Patrick Sharp picked up a secondary assist on Jeff Skinner's goal in the second period to tie the game at 2. Alexandre Burrows scored late in the frame to give Canada a 3-2 lead, but a pair of Slovak goals in the third period grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat.

Meanwhile, no Blackhawk recorded a point in the Czech Republic's 4-3 win over Sweden. However, Michael Frolik's medal hopes stay alive while Viktor Stalberg, Marcus Kruger and Niklas Hjalmarsson's tournament came to an end.
Frolik and the Czech Republic play Slovakia Saturday for the right to play the winner of Finlad and Russia in the gold-medal match Sunday.
