By the numbers: Sensational season for Blackhawks rookies

Four rookies made a significant impact for the Blackhawks in 2011-12, providing hope that they could make up a strong supporting cast and bring another Stanley Cup championship to Chicago in the near future. ChicagoBlackhawks.com offers up a "By the numbers" statistical analysis of their seasons, check out some of the best below:

.32: Goals per game by Andrew Shaw, which was the best among all NHL rookies with a minimum of 15 games played. It was also better than All-Stars Anze Kopitar, Eric Staal, Brad Richards and Pavel Datsyuk.

1: Number of shots it took Shaw to score his first NHL goal on Jan. 5 in Philadelphia.

3: Number of multi-point games for Jimmy Hayes, including his goal and assist vs. the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 21 (watch the highlights to the right).

4: Number of NHL rookies named Brandon, three played for the Hawks including Brandon Bollig, Brandon Pirri and Brandon Saad.

15: Only three players in the league had at least 15 points in 30 games or less. The list includes Shaw, Sidney Crosby and Andy McDonald of the St. Louis Blues.

138: Number of players selected ahead of Shaw in the 2011 NHL draft. Only 10 other players from that draft have played in the NHL so far and only two others -- including Saad -- played in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

284: Faceoffs won by Marcus Kruger. It's the fourth most among rookies overall.
