Comcast SportsNet will be re-airing Blackhawks Classics until the NHL lockout comes to an end. Tune in tonight at 7:00 p.m. to catch the 2010 Game 4 matchup against the Canucks when Jonathan Toews recorded three goals and two assists to put his team within one win of the Western Conference Finals.
The Blackhawks were entering Game 4 of the 2010 Western Conference Semifinals against the Canucks with all the momentum after Dustin Byfuglien stunned the audience by recording a hat trick in Game 3. Luckily for Chicago, the three-goal trend didn't end there.
Jonathan Toews followed in Big Buff's footsteps, recording three goals and two assists in Game 4, leading his team to their 7-4 victory over Vancouver. His five-point night tied a team record for points in a playoff game, originally accomplished by Stan Mikita in 1973 and Steve Larmer in 1990.
Toews spoke with NHL.com after the game:
"It was one of those nights where you get some chances and you throw it on net and it happens to go in. It's nice to get those breaks. You work hard and don't always expect to get lucky like that."
But the 22-year old captain's luck continued as his 18 playoff points led the league above both Johan Franzen and Sidney Crosby, who each recorded 17 points in the postseason.
