NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Carolina Panthers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 25) - Apparently don't anger these Panthers.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 20) - Cam Newton looks like he's starting to blossom. That's crucial for franchise.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 28)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 25) - Cam's performance against Atlanta shows the future is bright with new leadership on its way at seasons end.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 24) - Stunning performance by Cam Newton against the Falcons. Makes you wonder why this hasn't happened more often this season.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 24) - The Panthers defense has 21 sacks in six road games this season but only nine in seven home games. Carolina visits San Diego Sunday.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 25) - Great, Cam Newton's a savior again. Now the question: A savior of what? The Panthers are 4-9.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 26) - They just took out a season's worth of frustrations on the Falcons.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 27) - Cam Newton looks like he's coming out of his sophomore slump, which I knew he would do with all of that talent. Hopefully the team finishes strong with three winnable games.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 22) - Impressive effort by Cam and the Panthers in dismantling the Falcons.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 24) - After struggling for half the season, Cam Newton has played as well as any quarterback over the past three games. However, it's too little too late with the Panthers at 4-9.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 25) - Cam Newton is starting to look like the 2011 version of Cam Newton. Where was this guy in September?
