Note the following quotes from Inside Look with Andrew Shaw presented by Cadillac premiering Thursday, July 31 at 5:00 PM, exclusively on Comcast SportsNet:
SHAW on why he believes the Blackhawks chose him in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft:
"I'm that kind of guy that's going to go to the net. There's not a lot of guys that do that sort of thing, a guy that is willing to take a beating to get there, so I think they saw that and they like that. We've got a lot of skill here in Chicago, but I think what they needed was…I think they knew they needed a little grit."
SHAW on scoring his first NHL at Philadelphia in January of 2012:
"I think it was maybe my first shift. I had an opportunity to shoot the puck, but I was so nervous, I missed the puck. I'm glad I did because it probably wouldn't have gone in. It was my first shot actually. (Jonathan) Toews made a nice play to me. That's one moment I'll probably never forget."
SHAW on his upbringing in Belleville, Ontario:
"I always saw my parents work extremely hard for me and my brothers to play hockey. They just had the average job, punch in at seven in the morning, come home, make dinner, and take us to the rink. They worked hard, and I think it wore off on me. I saw what it took to get by in this world, and I've always pushed myself and work as hard as I could."
SHAW on his infamous facial stitches after being hit in the face with the puck in Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final:
"The price you gotta pay I guess...I wouldn't change it. I think that picture holding the cup is the coolest thing ever, so...I’m kind of glad it happened."
