DALLAS The phrase came from coach Joel Quenneville and Patrick Kane, and its one likely to be repeated from here on out.

This is going to be our hardest game of the year, said Kane, regarding the Chicago Blackhawks game against the Dallas Stars tonight at the American Airlines Center.

Indeed, with where the two teams stack up in the Western Conference the Blackhawks are sixth (84 points), the Stars seventh (82) this one is pivotal for both teams. The Blackhawks are trying to get their first road victory since March 5 in Toronto and the Stars want to snap a two-game losing streak.

Both teams will be minus a few players. Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell (foot) and center Dave Bolland (concussion) are back in Chicago. The Stars wont have Loui Eriksson (upper body) and former Blackhawk Adam Burish (lower body).

The missing pieces, however, wont lessen the enormity of the game.

Its a big game, Quenneville said. You look at the standings and the meaning of it for both is huge. Wed like to start the first part of this trip in a positive way. Were coming off a positive win but lets make sure we know this is going to be a tough game to play.

Briefly

Kane has fared well against the Stars. In 14 career games vs. Dallas, Kane has 11 goals and nine assists. I dont know what it is. Sometimes you get lucky against a team or you feel better in certain places, Im not sure. Ive had some success against them. Hopefully it continues tonight, he said.

Quenneville said theres an outside chance that Campbell will join the team for Sundays game against the Phoenix Coyotes. Bollands status has not changed.
