With the Cubs facing the Dodgers at Wrigley this weekend, it's not only a matchup of two of baseball's most storied franchises, but also a display of two of the most promising young shortstops in the game.
Starlin Castro and Dee Gordon have their respective franchise and fanbase very excited for the future.
Heading into Sunday, both players are battling for the National League lead in errors and stolen bases. They each committed a miscue in Saturday's game, pushing Castro to 8 errors and Gordon to 7. No other Major Leaguer has 6.
Gordon, 24, is second in the MLB with 12 steals and Castro, 22, is tied for third. Only Miami's Emilio Bonifacio has more (13).
Castro has spent a lot more time in the majors despite being two years younger, so he holds the advantage in career numbers.
