HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Freshman Omar Calhoun scored a season-high 22 points and Ryan Boatright had 21 to lead Connecticut to an 84-50 victory over winless Maryland-Eastern Shore on Monday night at the XL Center.

Calhoun and Boatright combined to score 15 of UConn's first 17 points in the second half. UConn went on a 15-0 run, capped by Boatright's steal and dunk that pushed to lead to 65-33 with 11:44 remaining.

The Huskies (8-2) shot 66 percent from the field (33 of 50) and were 10 of 19 from 3-point range.

Louis Bell scored 12 points for the Hawks (0-10).

It was UConn's first game since 20 students and six adults were killed last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown and a pre-game ceremony was held to honor their memory.

As a tribute to the victims, UConn players wore green ``SH'' patches on the front of their white jerseys and some wrote messages on their sneakers and socks. Boatright wrote ``SH'' on his left cheek.
