Veteran goalkeeper Jon Conway has officially announced his retirement after a 12-year MLS career.
After talking to Coach Arena about the opportunity in LA and evaluating my options, it just felt like a good time to transition out of the game, said Conway. Its been a pleasure to witness the growth of the sport and the league in the United States. Id like to thank everyone whos been a part of it, my teammates, my coaches, the fans and especially my family for supporting me throughout the years.
Conway came to the Fire via a trade from Toronto during the 2011 MLS SuperDraft and appeared in six matches.
