RECORD STREAK: The Top Ten Highest-Rated Blackhawks regular season games in Network History have already occurred this season

Chicago, IL (February 20, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the NHL-leading 13-0-3 Chicago Blackhawks, delivered its highest Blackhawks regular season rating ever last evening (February 19) -- a 7.41 household rating for its live coverage of the Blackhawks home ice battle against the conference rival Vancouver Canucks.

For last night’s thrilling 4-3 SO victory by the Blackhawks, which tied the all-time NHL record for most consecutive games to open a season earning at least one point, Comcast SportsNet attracted approx. 258,224 households in the Chicago market for the entire game and posted a 10.91 “peak” rating during the 10:15 PM quarter-hour (over 380,000 households tuning in). The 7.41 single game regular season ratings record on Comcast SportsNet shatters the previous record set on January 27 for the Blackhawks home game vs. Detroit (6.31). Source for all ratings information is provided by Nielsen Media Research overnights.

Comcast SportsNet was also the #1-highest rated television network in the Chicago market last night in overall households for the entire length of the game (7:30-10:30 PM). The network was also #1 in the market for seven-straight hours (5:30 PM – 12:30 AM) in all key advertising demos, including Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.

Including last night’s record-breaking rating on Comcast SportsNet, the Top 10 highest-rated Blackhawks regular season games in Chicago regional sports network history have all occurred this season…note the following:

2) 6.31 – Blackhawks vs. DET (January 27, 2013)
3) 5.70 – Blackhawks at PHX (February 7, 2013)
4) 5.58 – Blackhawks vs. ANA (February 12, 2013)
T5) 5.40 – Blackhawks at NSH (February 10, 2013)
T5) 5.40 – Blackhawks vs. STL (January 22, 2013)
7) 5.29 – Blackhawks at VAN (February 1, 2013)
8) 5.13 – Blackhawks at DAL (January 24, 2013)
9) 4.92 – Blackhawks at CLG (February 2, 2013)
10) 4.39 – Blackhawks at CBJ (January 26, 2013)

So far this season through 13 games, the Blackhawks on Comcast SportsNet are currently averaging a 5.18 household rating, an increase of 77% compared to last season through 13 telecasts. In addition, note the following demo increases in the following categories: Adults 18-49 (up 79%), Adults 25-54 (up 60%), Men 18-49 (up 87%) and Men 25-54 (up 71%).
