Hinrich suffers elbow injury in Bulls' win

Already missing starting shooting guard Rip Hamilton due to a torn left plantar fascia, let alone superstar Derrick Rose, the Bulls backcourt took another hit in Saturday night's 93-85 home win over the East-leading Knicks.

Current starting point guard Kirk Hinrich suffered a left-elbow injury and didn't play in the second half of the victory, though the team listed his return as questionable.

According to Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, Hinrich suffered the injury sometime in the first half of the contest, though he wouldn't specify when exactly and was evasive when pressed for details.

"He tweaked his elbow," said Thibodeau, who noted that Hinrich's status was "day-to-day"

The Bulls are off Sunday and practice Monday before hosting the Clippers and playing at Philadelphia on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

In Hinrich's absence, backup point guard Nate Robinson scored 14 points and dished out eight assists, while rookie Marquis Teague made a brief fourth-quarter appearance.
