Jeremy Lins meteoric rise to international icon was as unexpected as any occurrence during this shortened NBA season.

While his progression was cut short as left knee surgery ended his season, the 23-year-olds overall impact and celebrity with Asian-Americans rivaled that of Yao Ming and his story is one of perseverance, determination and belief in ones self.

Time Magazine listed Lin as one of its 100 most influential people in 2012.
