NASCAR driver fan event is coming back to Chicago

The interactive Chicago NASCAR driver fan event will be back for a second consecutive year on Sept. 12 at Navy Pier to kick off the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.

NASCAR Contenders LiveSM Sponsored by Toyota and Sprint will feature all 12 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, NASCAR President Mike Helton and as an added treat for NACAR fans, Miss Sprint Cup.

According to the press release, Helton will be available for fans to ask questions of him just before the drivers take the stage to provide fans an insider’s look at how each competitor plans to become a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion.

“In collaboration with Toyota, a long standing Official NASCAR Partner, NASCAR Contenders Live was a rousing success with our fans last year,” said Norris Scott, NASCAR vice president of partnership marketing. “The event is unique because it showcases the competitive nature of the top stars in our sport and their passion to be a champion.”

Fans that attend the event will also have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a variety of different prizes, the Grand Prize being a 2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Limited.

“NASCAR Contenders Live gives Toyota a grand stage on which to connect with the fiercely loyal NASCAR fan base,” said Keith Dahl, Toyota National Manager of Motorsports and Engagement Marketing.
