Report: Jabari Parker will attend college

Jabari Parker has talked a lot about his college recruitment process, including a visit to the CSN studio this week.

The issue is, there was still doubt about whether Parker would actually attend college, given his Mormon beliefs and the fact most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints attend a mission at age 18.

The senior confirmed Friday that he would be attending college next year, and will not go on a Mormon mission.

"I know for a fact I'm going to college my first year," Parker told the hosts of "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on WMVP 1000.

Parker narrowed his college list down to Duke, Michigan State, Florida, BYU and Stanford. Illinois and DePaul -- two schools with a vast basketball history in close proximity to Parker's Chicago home -- did not make the cut, despite rumors that Parker's father, Sonny, does not fly and would have to drive to see his son play in college.

But Parker shed more light on his choices on "The Waddle & Silvy Show", saying he dismissed Illinois and DePaul because of the recent coaching changes at each school.
