Eduardo Escobars four-hit effort powered Peoria to a 13-8 victory over visiting Mesa on Tuesday afternoon. Escobar, who was named to the AFLs Rising Stars Game roster earlier in the day, had a pair of doubles, a triple and drove in two as his average climbed to .348.
Anthony Carter, who was also named to the West roster for the Rising Stars Game, pitched a scoreless inning. Jared Mitchell was also named to the Rising Stars roster for the game that will take place Saturday night in Surprise.
Cubs prospects Chris Carpenter and Josh Vitters were named to the East teams roster.
