David Scott had plenty of control on the boards and going after loose balls for Farragut on Sunday night.Scott pulled down 21 rebounds to along with four steals and scored nine points. He played a big role in leading Farragut past Seton 50-45 in the Ronald Chops Billinger Memorial Shootout at North Park University. My coach William Nelson told me to keep up with the intensity and dont let it break, Scott said. Its something we focus on, being defense.Im just a defensive player. If we need a defensive stop, then the team looks for me either for loose balls or anything to control the ball. The Admirals (12-7) also had Rashaun Stimage contribute with 19 points, six rebounds and six blocks, and Lavell Boyd score 12 points. The effort out of the boys was great, Nelson said. The start from them was pretty good. Defense was good and we had some guys we wanted to key on. We just didnt want to do too much reaching and work hard helping each other out.Seton (17-4) had its only lead at 3-2 just over a minute into the game, when Kamal Shasi dropped in a trey of his team-high 14 points.Farragut went on a 12-1 run behind Stimage who scored seven points for a 14-4 advantage,The Sting went 1-for-12 from the field in the opening quarter. We had am extremely slow start, Seton coach Brandon Thomas said. We probably shot the worst all season. Theres no excuse and weve got to make those shots especially when you play a team like Farragut. The Admirals maintained ran lead into double digits25-15at the break and up to 42-29 heading into the final quarter.Seton made a late push and cut the lead down to five points, but couldnt get any closer.Im disappointed that we didnt come to play, Thomas said. It was a long week and this wouldve been the icing on the cake. After a week of beating Marist and Brother Rice. This was an unacceptable performance for us.
