The Cubs are reportedly trying to go through a major renovation at Wrigley Field, much like the Red Sox did with Fenway Park.
David Kaplan and his guest hosts discussed the potential plans and rumors on Chicago Tribune Live Monday evening, mostly focusing on the revenue streams of the ballpark.
What about shutting down Waveland or Sheffield or both? How will the financing part of it all work?
A hypothetical question was also brought up:
--Which would you rather have as a fan?
A) A state-of-the-art suburban stadium that would guarantee a championship
B) A renovated Wrigley Field but no guarantees of a title
Most people chose option A, but that may have just been because of the championship guarantee. A field doesn't guarantee a championship, obviously, and it may have no impact whatsover on the play on the diamond.
