Note the following quotes from Inside Look with Elena Delle Donne presented by Cadillac premiering Tuesday, May 13 at 8:00 PM on Comcast SportsNet:
DELLE DONNE on her “Rookie of the Year” debut season with the Sky:
“This great season that we had, making history, the Sky program, getting into the playoffs, and then, obviously, that sting of not performing the way we wanted to in the playoffs, that soaked in probably the most…so that's what's kind of driving me this off-season to get better.”
DELLE DONNE on being motivated as a youth by her brother Gene’s friends:
“His friends would be like 'We don't want your younger sister playing…she's a girl…she can't play,’ and he would say 'Well, she's on my team…she's playing with me,’ and we would always crush them, and they'd be like 'Wow, this girl can play.”
DELLE DONNE on what she’s learned from older sister Lizzie, who was born blind, deaf and has cerebral palsy:
“She's so strong, so she's the most amazing person I've ever encountered, and it's incredible to think that I've learned the most from someone who's never spoken a word to me.”
DELLE DONNE on her hopes to create a brighter spotlight for WNBA players:
“I'm definitely not satisfied, but I think we're headed in the right direction. I'd like to see much more visibility with our girls. You see a poster of Lebron (James) and you see a poster of KD (Kevin Durant)…put one of us out there once in a while…let our young girls have girls to look up to.”
