The Blackhawks dominated the first 10 minutes, with several prime scoring opportunities but Mike Smith has withstood the barrage of 13 shots (2 for the Coyotes) and a Hawks power play.

Joel Quenneville was rolling four lines with offensive threats on each - and each was a factor: Brendan Morrison-Jonathan Toews-Viktor Stalberg to start, followed by Patrick Sharp-Marcus Kruger-Jimmy Hayes. Then came Bryan Bickell-Dave Bolland-Michael Frolik, and finally Andrew Brunette-Patrick Kane-Andrew Shaw.

We're awaiting word on whether Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla will return after Morrison's skate appeared to inadvertently come in contact with his face. He left the ice under his own power, with a towel to the face.

Blackhawks domination early, but no score.
