Note the following quotes from Inside Look with Toni Kukoc presented by Cadillac premiering Sunday, March 10 on Comcast SportsNet:
KUKOC on the importance of representing his home country of Croatia:
"I knew that by playing basketball, I actually represented the country. I’m an ambassador of Croatia as a country and in that way, put the word of the Croatian people out there."
KUKOC on his Team Croatia facing Michael Jordan & Scottie Pippen’s “Dream Team” in the ’92 Olympics:
"I don’t think there was a team that could hang with Dream Team. They just had so much talent, so much knowledge, basketball knowledge…we knew it would be hard (for Team Croatia), but obviously that team would make the game interesting."
KUKOC on proving himself to Jordan & Pippen as a Bulls teammate:
"They probably were looking to see how tough, how good of a basketball player mentally, physically, emotionally and every way I can be, and if I could actually help them here or not."
KUKOC on hitting numerous buzzer-beater shots, including his Game 3 winner vs. NY in the ’94 Playoffs:
"The whole point in my head was ‘get that ball & shoot’…and I had a feeling that all the shots that I was hitting, that I was shooting, they were going to go in."
KUKOC on his pioneering contributions to the NBA’s international player explosion:
"When we see each other, I’m talking from (Arvydas) Sabonis, Dino Radja, (Vlade) Divac, a couple of other guys, we do feel like pioneers…that we came here and kind of discovered the NBA, to actually put the European players on the map of basketball."
