Martin Kaymer couldn't keep up his record-setting pace Saturday at Pinehurst No. 2, but the German still holds a comfortable lead heading into the final round of the 114th U.S. Open.
Kaymer shot a two-over 72 and holds a five-shot advantage over Rickie Fowler, who shot three-under to find himself in the final group, and Erik Compton.
At a course as difficult as Pinehurst it's safe to say no lead is ever safe, but the way Kaymer is stroking the ball it's as close as can be.
