Comcast SportsNet to air Kerry Wood's 20-K shutout tonight

At the start of 1998, Kerry Wood was a prospect in the minors, waiting to make his big debut in the Major Leagues on April 12 for the Chicago Cubs.

Little did we know the young 20-year-old would be making history in just his fifth start for the North Siders.

On May 6, Wood pitched a one-hit, no walk, 20-strikeout shutout against the Astros. The rookie tied Roger Clemens' strikeout record, and to this day is tied with Bob Feller for being the only pitchers to strike out their age in a single game.

On Wednesday night, Comcast SportsNet will be reliving the excitement Wood brought to the Windy City and to fans across the league, as he put on one of the strongest pitching performances in the history of the game.

The game will be shown at 7:00 CST after SportsNet Central.
