Cubs' minor league music guy ejected from game

File this under signs of the apocalypse: The music coordinator for the Daytona Cubs was ejected from the game Wednesday night.

Seriously.

Derek Dye played "Three Blind Mice" after a controversial call and home-plate umpire Mario Seneca threw Dye out of the game.

Daytona, the Cubs' high-A affiliate, responded with a Facebook message, and Deadspin now has video up on the craziness.

The video shows Seneca turn around a few seconds into the song and eject Dye just like he's a player or coach on the field. Then you can hear him say "turn the sound off the rest of the night."

The announcers' reactions are priceless.

I didn't know an umpire had that much control on the field, but Dye didn't take it personally.

In fact, he actually displayed some witty humor on his twitter account after the fact, tweeting out such messages as "Get ejected from a professional baseball game. Check." and "ThatAwkwardMoment when the Umpire who tossed me tonight is umpiring tomorrow's game." and the best one yet: "If nothing else, I have a new pick-up line... 'Hey, my name's Derek and I've been ejected from a pro baseball game.' It's bulletbroof.

Classic.
