ARLINGTON, Texas -- A.J. Pierzynski will miss a fifth straight game on Sunday, but is certain he will return to the lineup on Monday. White Sox manager Robin Ventura isnt as confident about Alejandro De Azas chances of returning Monday.

Pierzynski was previously expected to return for Sunday nights finale, and said again he is available, but the team determined it was best for him to rest his right oblique injury for one more day.

De Aza tested his sore left wrist before Sundays game and Ventura thinks hell need to sit again Monday.

Ventura and Pierzysnki both believe the veteran catcher will return to play Monday and Tuesday before he rests again on Wednesday and Thursday.

Shortstop Alexei Ramirez, who collided with De Aza in Fridays game leaving both with an injured wrist, returned to the lineup.

With heat everything and the travel, I didnt want to get dehydrated and have a chance to make it worse, Pierzynski said.

Pierzynski is hitting .287 with 16 homers and 50 RBIs in 83 games. He said his oblique was sore leading up to a swing of the bat last Monday, but he hasnt felt the grabbing sensation many players say they experience.

It had kind of gone away then it gradually got worse until Monday when it was to a point where it was Hey, I need a day or two here, Pierzynski said. They were accommodating. It has just worked out that it has been almost a week. Its definitely better. Im definitely able to play. Theres no question. Robin and everyone knows that I can play. But they are trying to be extra cautious with two months left.
