KANSAS CITY --- The White Sox rotation took at least another temporary hit on Sunday as Gavin Floyd has been scratched for his next start, manager Robin Ventura said.

Floyd, who was scheduled to go Monday in Boston, returned to Chicago on Saturday to have an MRI performed after he began to experience soreness in his right elbowforearm. The MRI showed no structural damage, but Floyd is sidelined temporarily with inflammation.

Floyd is 7-8 with a 4.54 ERA in 17 starts this season. Over his last four starts, Floyd is 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA.

Floyd has been one of three constants for the White Sox this season. The team is currently without starters John Danks and Philip Humber, though Humber will return and pitch on Tuesday.

The White Sox will instead start Dylan Axelrod on Monday and Humbers return has been moved up one day. The White Sox havent announced who will pitch on Wednesday. Rookie Jose Quintana is the teams top internal option.
