Ventura expecting to give Reed a rest Saturday

Robin Venturas preference would be to stay away from using closer Addison Reed on Saturday afternoon if possible.

The White Sox rookie closer earned a save on Friday night as he made an appearance in his third straight game.

It's the second time Reed, who has 13 saves this season, has appeared in three games in three days this season. He also pitched in three straight against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 22-24.

Over the last 15 days, Reed has appeared in eight games. Hes 1-0 with five saves during the stretch.

If I can stay away from Addison today, I definitely would, Ventura said. Hes pitched a lot lately. We do keep track of that. (Pitching coach Don Cooper) is on it a little more than I am, but we talk about that kind of stuff all the time. If we can stay away from Addison, we would.
