Bulls assistant accepts position with Bobcats

The Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson is reporting that Bulls assistant coach Rick Brunson has accepted a position on the Charlotte Bobcats staff under new head coach Mike Dunlap.
Brunson had been an assistant with the Bulls since September 2010, and previously worked for the NBA's Denver Nuggets, the University of Virginia Cavaliers' basketball team and the University of Hartford Hawks.
The Bobcats are in the midst of a major rebuilding year after going 7-59 in last year's lockout-shortened season. Charlotte lost its last 23 games and its win percentage was the lowest in NBA history.
Dunlap was hired off the St. John's basketball staff, where he worked under head coach Steve Lavin.
The Bobcats selected Kentucky's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the second overall pick in this year's draft. They also grabbed Vanderbilt's Jeffrey Taylor with the first pick of the second round.
