Report: Rockets sign Asik offer sheet

As expected, the Houston Rockets have reportedly signed free agent center Omer Asik to an offer sheet worth 25.1 million over three years. The Chicago Bulls will now have a three-day window to match the deal.
Asik, 25, had been on Houston's radar since last season when the Rockets insisted Asik be involved in a deal that would have sent shooting guard Courtney Lee to Chicago. The Rockets' deal has a 'posion pill' included in it that will make Asik's deal worth almost 15 million in the third and final year. He would make around 5 million his first and second year, respectively.
That 'pill' would make it hard for the Bulls to match Asik's offer sheet. Chicago will owe Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah approximately 47 million in 2014-15. The Bulls are also looking to extend Taj Gibson and eventually Luol Deng (a free agent in 2014), so Asik's contract would be difficult to take on in year three.
The Bulls have wavered on whether or not to match the offer. They are reportedly looking to stay under the luxury tax, which they would go over if they re-sign Asik, but general manager Gar Forman also insisted the team would make "basketball decisions" this off-season, not "financial decisions."
The Bulls signed 3-point specialist power forward Vladimir Radmanovic to a one-year deal and reportedly are interested in free agent center Darko Milicic.
