The Chicago Bulls summer league roster is beginning to take shape, with games beginning July 13 and running through July 22. Here's a look at six players who have been confirmed to this year's summer roster.
Marquis Teague, PG: The Bulls' first-round draft pick last Thursday, Teague will get his first real professional basketball experience in Las Vegas, most likely starting at point guard and seeing a whole heap of minutes. The Bulls may be relying on Teague to play a significant role early next season, so gaining experience this early should help the transition from college to the NBA.
Leon Powe, PF: The 28-year-old Powe played in Puerto Rico last year, and the Bulls were rumored to have had interest in him. Now they will get to see what he could potentially bring to the table this season, and the five-year veteran would come at a relatively cheap price.
Demetri McCamey, PG: Undrafted in 2011, McCamey played last season in the Turkish Basketball League. Before that, he enjoyed four successful seasons at Illinois under Bruce Webber. He doesn't have much of a shot at sticking on the Bulls' roster, but a successful showing could give him a chance in the D-League.
Jermaine Taylor, SG: After averaging 26.2 points per game his senior season at Central Florida, Taylor was selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Wizards. He was traded to Houston, and again in 2010 to Sacramento. He has played in 65 games in his two-year career, averaging 5.4 points per game. He's an undersized shooting guard but has valuable NBA experience.
Olek Czyz, SF: The Polish Czyz played two seasons at Duke before transferring to Nevada, where he averaged 12.3 and 13.8 points per game, respectively. He has good size at 6-foot-7 and can shoot from the perimeter and rebound well.
Jamie Skeen, PF: A Virginia Commonwealth product, Skeen played in both France and Israel last year and will look to make an impression in the States this summer. After transferring from Wake Forest, the 6-foot-8 Skeen averaged 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Final Four-bound Rams, but went undrafted in the 2011 draft.
