Bears fans won't like to hear it, but according to one source, they rank sixth among the most-engaged fan bases in football.
Now, sixth out of 32 is pretty good, but surely many Bears fans consider themselves No. 1.
TicketCity drew up the list and used a variety of criteria and data from last season to determine which fan base was the NFL's "most engaged." The ticketing website used several attendance and ticket sales criteria, as well as teams' followings on social media. In the end, the Dallas Cowboys earned the top spot, with the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers rounding out the top five. The Bears then followed, beating out the Broncos, Saints, Texans and Eagles, making up the rest of the top 10.
The website also provided top-five rankings in each individual "metric" of determination. The Bears ranked No. 1 when it came to the average median cost of a ticket to a game at Soldier Field ($232). They ranked third in average ticket price for all games, home and away ($193). And they ranked fifth in the percentage of the stadium filled during games (101.3 percent).
The Bears did not rank in the top five when it came to likes on Facebook or followers on Twitter.
