It's never too early to get the oldest rivalry in the NFL going, and Mike Ditka may have done just that with his comments to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Da Coach proclaimed Aaron Rodgers, or as he called him, "The guy up in Green Bay" the best signal-caller in the league.
"I like what he does, and I like his leadership qualities," Ditka said of Rodgers. "And I think that’s the other thing you have to look at. He has to be the guy in charge. And the team has to know it."
Rodgers has led the NFL in passer rating each of the last two seasons and has both an MVP and Super Bowl ring to show for his eight-year career.
Ditka didn't stop there, saying Rodgers was the one quarterback he would have liked to have coached. He also noted Green Bay Packer great Bart Starr in his answer.
How could I say that I wouldn’t want to coach [Johnny] Unitas or Bart Starr? There’s been so many great ones," Ditka said. "But if I had to coach one guy in my career, maybe it’d be be Aaron Rodgers."
