Their peers didn’t think enough of either running back Matt Forte nor defensive tackle Henry Melton to vote the two Bears into the “Top 100” released last month by NFL Network, but Pro Football Talk has fixed that oversight.

Forte (No. 100) and Melton (95) joined linebacker Lance Briggs (96) in the first quarter of players selected. Quarterback Jay Cutler may not yet appear on the list, but quarterbacks Tony Romo (76) from Dallas and Detroit’s Matthew Stafford (87) made our selectees, and I’m not sure Cutler, for all of his “potential” and arm strength, will come in above either of those two.

Something that’s not likely to be the case in upcoming releases of 25's was the six running backs in this group, including C.J. Spiller, Maurice Jones-Drew, Alfred Morris, Frank Gore and Doug Martin, in addition to Forte.
