Bears safety Adrian Wilson told reporters he feels he has nothing to prove despite being a 34-year-old safety that's been out of the NFL the last two seasons due to injury.

Then he took to Twitter to reinforce his beliefs.

It certainly is remarkable that Wilson, a 12-year veteran with 27 interceptions and 25.5 sacks to his name, has returned for one last shot in the NFL. And there's no doubt he'll need to prove to himself that he can still compete at the highest level at a position in which speed wins more times than not.

But Wilson will have to prove his worth to the Bears coaching staff, too. After a dismal season the Bears secondary underwent some serious change, and that included the arrival of Ryan Mundy, M.D. Jennings, Danny McCray and fourth-round pick Brock Vereen. He stands a chance to make the roster, but it will take some proving first. Even if he doesn't want to admit it.
