The Bears announced on Thursday afternoon they have claimed offensive tackle/guard Michael Ola off waivers from the Miami Dolphins.

The 26-year-old Ola signed with the Dolphins in January after playing with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL from 2012-13. The 6-foot-3, 278 pound offensive lineman started five games for Montreal in 2013 which was Marc Trestman's final season with the Alouettes.

In two corresponding roster moves, the Bears terminated the contract of cornerback Derrick Martin and waived offensive tackle Rogers Gaines.

The 29-year-old Martin played in seven games for the Bears in 2013, registering three tackles. He has appeared in 73 games over eight seasons with the Baltimore Ravens (2006-08), Green Bay Packers (2009-10), New York Giants (2011), New England Patriots (2012) and the Bears last year. Martin has notched 38 tackles, three interceptions, eight passes defended and 62 special teams stops throughout his career.

After going undrafted out of Tennessee State Gaines spent the entire 2013 season on the Bears practice squad.

With Thursday's moves, the Bears currently have 89 players on their roster.
