Bears Grades: Linebackers make impact plays, just not enough

Linebackers made a number of impact plays against a developing Minnesota Vikings offense, just not enough, and definitely not enough for a 3-4 system.

Pernell McPhee continued his run of solid pass rushing, sacking Teddy Bridgewater for a seven-yard loss in addition to a second tackle for loss among his three tackles. Christian Jones had a tackle for loss and a hit on Bridgewater in addition to tying for team-high with five tackles, based on preliminary stats.

Jones beat a downfield block to make a second-quarter stop of a screen pass, end a Minnesota drive and force a field goal. But LaRoy Reynolds was flattened earlier on one Adrian Peterson run and linebackers in general were too slow filling gaps

A personal foul by Sam Acho at the end of a Bridgewater scramble cost the Bears yardage in the third quarter but no points.
