As he prepares for his 12th season in the NFL, Bears veteran linebacker caught up with CSN's Pat Boyle in an exclusive one-on-one interview during training camp in Bourbonnais.

In Part 1 of Boyle's interview with Briggs, the seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker discussed a wide range of topics including why 2013 was such a challenging season, what the future holds and where he's at with his shoulder rehab.

Here'a a sneak peek of how Briggs dealt with a disappointing 2013 season:

"It [2013] was easily the most difficult in my professional career," Briggs said. "Seasons like that, there are always lessons to be learned. And not even just on the field. There's life lessons to be learned from playing football. It really just puts a lot of things into perspective"
