The NFL's regular season is now less than a week away, and the Chicago Bears are taking to the community to get fans ready for the action. It's all leading up to Sunday, Sept. 8, when first-year coach Marc Trestman and the Bears take on the Cincinnati Bengals at home to begin their 2013 campaign.

One event that will allow fans to interact with the team and coaching staff will occur Wednesday, when general manager Phil Emery will host a live chat on at noon. Make sure to follow @ChicagoBears on Twitter, and stay on for live press conferences from Trestman and players that day.

On Friday the Bears are asking fans to paint the city navy and orange. Fans are encouraged to wear Bears colors in the office, in the classroom or out on the town to celebrate the beginning of a new season. A Back to Football Week celebration will take part at Pioneer Court Plaza (401 N. Michigan Ave.) where alumni players will sign autographs, the Bears Drumline will perform and free posters and other giveaways will be handed out throughout the night.

As the Bears ready themselves for the game on Sunday, fans can also get prepared at Soldier Field with the Miller Lite Bears Ultimate Tailgate. The event will take place before each of the Bears' first four home games, two hours before kickoff. More alumni appearances are scheduled and fans will receive free giveaways and food.

The team is also giving back to the community this week in the lead-up to Sunday's opener. Second-year wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and Stanley Da Bear will deliver school supplies for students and teachers at Edward Ellington Elementary School. CSN Chicago will cover the event, so look for video on the event.

Let us know if you'll be taking part in any of the festivities!
