Bears waive defensive end Cheta Ozougwu

The Bears announced on Tuesday that they have waived defensive end Cheta Ozougwu.

In nine games with the Bears from 2012-13, Ozougwu registered four tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. He also added five special teams tackles.

Ozougwu became expendable with the additions of defensive ends Jared Allen, Lamarr Houston, Willie Young and Israel Idonije through free agency.

Ozougwu was originally selected by the Houston Texans in the seventh-round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Rice University.
