No matter how you felt about the Bears' potential to be profiled on HBO's hit series "Hard Knocks," you don't have to focus on it anymore.
Reports Thursday morning indicates the Atlanta Falcons will be featured on this season of "Hard Knocks," and that they actually volunteered for it.
HBO's Hard Knocks will be done this summer with...the Atlanta Falcons.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) June 12, 2014
The #Falcons volunteered for Hard Knocks, I’m told. They had an out, making the playoffs 2 years ago. They chose to be in.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 12, 2014
Now, the one way you can look at it if you're a Bears fan is a full season of "Hard Knocks" would give you unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes of your favorite team and players.
On the other hand, the Bears had plenty of chances to volunteer for the show and if they were chosen by HBO (after being one of the finalists), it would have been forced upon Marc Trestman's squad. That's never good.
And we all know Jay Cutler wouldn't have liked all those camera watching him every second of training camp.
Maybe this is for the best.
At least it gives Bears fans a chance to keep up with Devin Hester, who signed a deal with the Falcons over the offseason.
