Bears offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod is looking forward to playing against his former team on Sunday and knows it will be a battle in the trenches.
Bushrod discussed his past experiences in New Orleans and the upcoming matchup between the Bears and Saints with The Times-Picayune on NOLA.com.
"The Saints have a lot of guys who are playing really well," Bushrod said to The Times-Picayune. "A lot of them I was playing against last year, that I was going up against in practice.”
The Saints suffered a disappointing 7-9 season last year, but they come into Chicago with an undefeated record this year and a much improved defensive line.
"I knew that the type of players they had there, the type of motors they had and the type of fight that they had, and if they were just given an opportunity they were going to do alright," Bushrod said to The Times-Picayune. "Obviously that's what they are fighting to do."
In terms of the Bears' season thus far, Bushrod offered his own thoughts about the first quarter of the season.
“We're fighting to get it done, we're fighting to get better week in and week out," Bushrod said to The Times-Picayune. "We are just trying to put the work in so that we can have some success and just keep hammering away at trying to get better every single day. It's not going to be pretty all of the time, we'll have our ups and downs but we have a good group of guys here."
