Charges dropped against former Bears OC Aaron Kromer

Misdemeanor battery charges against former Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer and his son, Zachary, were dropped Friday.

Kromer, currently the offensive line coach in Buffalo, and his son pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an incident earlier this month in which both were accused of striking minors during a dispute over beach chairs. Kromer allegedly punched a boy in the face and threatened to kill his family. Charges were dropped after the boys' parents stated in a press release from the Florida state's attorney office that the injuries sustained were minor and that "they desired that the lives of their children not be further disrupted."

An "amicable resolution" was agreed upon between both parties.

Kromer was placed on paid leave after his arrest on Aug. 12. Bills head coach Rex Ryan has not stated publicly whether Kromer has a future with the team.

Kromer spent two seasons with the Bears before being let go at the end of last season. In December, Kromer claimed to be the anonymous person who leaked a report criticizing quarterback Jay Cutler. He later apologized to the team and staff.
