With the Bears' heart-breaking loss Sunday afternoon, Jay Cutler's first offseason as a free agent begins.

But could the Bears lock him up before he technically gets to the open market?
"I think we'll deal with [contract negotiations] later in the week," Cutler said after the Bears' loss. "Right now, [I'm] kind of living in the moment. I'm a little upset about the game and how it went. This locker room is never going to be the same. Gonna miss some guys."
Cutler played well in the matchup with the Green Bay Packers, completing 15-of-24 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns for a 103.8 passer rating. His only turnover came on the final play of the game, a Hail Mary attempt at the endzone in the closing seconds.
For what it's worth, Brandon Marshall already predicted Cutler would return to Chicago for the 2014 season.
