In the week-plus since Michael Sam came out, everybody has been debating how a gay player will be accepted in locker rooms around the NFL.
Bears Hall of Famer Dan Hampton, an old-school defensive lineman with 57 sacks to his name, doesn't see it as an issue at all.
"If he can play, everybody will love him," Hampton told CSN from the Chicago Auto Show Monday. "At some point, the kid is going to have to prove that he can shed blocks and make plays.
"If he can do that, nobody cares if he's from Mars. If he can play, he can play. I've never seen a football team that's not willing to accept a great player no matter what baggage he brings."
