David Fales will get his shot for Bears against Cleveland

The David Fales Era in the NFL will officially begin Thursday evening against the Cleveland Browns.

Coach Marc Trestman confirmed Monday that Fales, who last played late in the preseason opener against Philadelphia, that Fales will start against the Browns and “if we need somebody to finish, then Jimmy [Clausen],” Trestman said.

Fales was the first of the Bears’ two sixth-round draft choices. He completed five of seven passes against the Eagles in his 22 snaps, all in the fourth quarter, throwing one interception but also directing the offense on a 73-yard drive covering 16 plays and netting an insurance field goal in the closing minutes.
