Henry Melton has played football for a long time, as a running back, a defensive end and lately a defensive tackle. He has delivered hits and been the recipient of more than a few, even as a running back in high school and his freshman year at Texas.
“No,” he said Monday. “I ran that rock -- hard.”
But coming off the field just three plays into the Aug. 9 game at Carolina, he was “dazed” by his own assessment and he was homing in uniform color to find the right bench.
“I never had that feeling before,” said Melton, who dismissed any question about whether he would play next Sunday vs. Cincinnati. “Walking off the field was like, ‘Whoa.’ I was just looking for the right color.”
