No piece of gum or breath mint will get that nasty taste of the Bears' Week 17 loss to the Green Bay Packers out of running back Matt Forte's mouth.
It's one thing to lose in a do-or-die situation in the final week of the regular season. It's another to lose to your rival at home.
"I still haven't forgotten about it," Forte said of the defeat. "I got my finger put on both of the games we play them this year."
The veteran running back was a big part of the reason why the Bears were in the game for most of their battle with the Packers in the season-ending loss. Forte accumulated 110 yards on 22 carries with two touchdowns in addition to hauling in another touchdown through the air.
With key free agent signings in the offseason on the defensive side, Forte and the Bears hope that will finally put them over the top and push them past the Packers.
"I'm just tired of being at home, at a game that means so much and lose to the Green Bay Packers," Forte said. "It's about time we turn that."
