The Bears are wondering whether or not Jon Bostic can replace Brian Urlacher.
San Diego Chargers wide receiver Mike Willie would like to let the Bears know he thinks Bostic is up to the challenge.
Midway through the third quarter of the Bears' 33-28 win Thursday night, Bostic, starting at middle linebacker for the second straight week, sniffed out a wide-receiver screen and timed up a huge (and legal) hit on Willie, who had caught the ball and secured possession but had not made a "football move" to make it a legal catch. The ball was jarred lose to set up second down.
Bostic finished Thursday's game with two hits and a defended pass, while Willie actually had himself quite the day, catching three passes, two of which went for touchdowns, for 25 yards.
